“ Recently, we visited Redemption Coffee, formerly known as Mustard Seed, now under new ownership. The transition seems to have brought a heavy focus on coffee offerings and small brunch options. We stopped by for a Sunday breakfast-lunch before embarking on a day of home tours and open houses. The place exudes a hip, modern appeal, with outdoor seating that, while great, could use a bit of attention as it appears worn down. As coffee enthusiasts, we were pleased with the quality of their lattes. While we're not typically fans of bacon, we decided to try their salmon and avocado on toast and on a croissant - and were pleasantly surprised by how amazing it tasted! One area that could use improvement is staffing; currently, the owner seems to handle all aspects of the operation - from cooking to serving and cashier duties. However, with the right team in place, the service experience could undoubtedly be elevated. Overall, Redemption Coffee shows promise under its new ownership, and we look forward to returning to see how it evolves. ”

“ A quality place to grab a coffee or horchata. I sat and watched the owner greet each customer by name which is a great sign that they have a loyal customer base. My husband and I tried a couple different horchatas. The orange horchata was so refreshing and flavored with muddled oranges. They also have a new syrup flavor that can be added to horchata, rosemary and cranberry which makes for a delightful holiday drink. If you haven't been here yet, this is your sign to go and give this place a try. ”

“ My daughter lives in Staten Island and she loves this place. I was visiting her. So decided to give it a try. The place is small. But has a nice outdoor seating area. The staff recommended the grilled cheese with hummus and a raspberry jam. Seemed like a stomachache waiting to happen. But it wasn't. It was delicious and fresh. My daughter got the muesli with fruits. She loved it. Had the ice coffee. Also good. And she got an herbal tea. I tasted it. Very good. Cool little place. Food did take a while. But the day was nice. So not a big deal. Menu is a but limited. Overall worth the trip ”

“ First time here for breakfast. Small and cozy. Not like a diner breakfast menu but smaller selection and a bit more gourmet Lots of coffees, teas and baked goods. I had a smoked salmon and avocado with purple onion on pumpernickel bread. Loved it. A great idea for cream cheese substitute is the avocado. Coffee was ok. Very cute outdoor area not open yet. Still too chilly!! ”
